Christopher K. Greca
Christopher K. Greca retired from the United States Army in 2017 after a Distinguished 31-year military career. After retirement, Chris founded 5th Principle, a leadership consulting firm who specializes in character development, coaching and team building, all of which come directly from his training, education, and 30+ years of experience as a United States Army Soldier and Ranger.
During his service, Chris worked at the most senior levels for both the Army and Department of Defense. He served over 40 months in Afghanistan, Iraq, and across the United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) area of responsibility as part of a Joint Special Operational Task Force, Conventional Army Forces, and as the most Senior Enlisted Leader assigned to USCENTCOM.
A few of his more notable assignments include: Service in both 2nd and 1st Ranger Battalions, where Chris participated in three operational deployments to both Afghanistan and Iraq.
Including being a part of Operation Restore Freedom, the Jessica Lynch rescue mission. He additionally served as a rifle Platoon Sergeant in the 82d Airborne Division, a First Sergeant in both the United Nations Security Battalion — Joint Security Area on the Korean DMZ, and in 1st Ranger Battalion of the 75th Ranger Regiment. Besides service as both a Battalion and Brigade Command Sergeant Major (CSM) in the 4th Brigade Combat Team of the 10th Mountain Division, Chris served at the 1-4 Star levels_ The Post Command Sergeant Major of the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk (1 Star Level; BG James Yarbrough), the Division CSM of 10th Mountain Division (2 Star Level; MG James Terry), the Combined Arms Center and Fort Leavenworth (3 Star Level; LTG Dave Perkins), United States Forces Command (FORSCOM; GEN Dan Allyn) CSM, and culminated as the United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) Command Senior Enlisted Leader working for the current Secretary of Defense, Llyod Austin.
His awards and decorations include (but are not limited to): Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit (4 awards), Bronze Star Medal (3 awards), Purple Heart Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3 awards), and numerous others. Chris is a Distinguished Member of the 75th Ranger Regiment (DMoR), for his service in both 2nd and 1st Ranger Battalions, and is also a Class of 2021 inductee into the 10th Mountain Division Hall of Fame, where he served at the Battalion (2/30 Infantry), Brigade (4/10 Infantry), and Division levels.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration with honors (4.0 GPA) from Park University, and a Master of Science in Leadership with a concentration on Organizational Leadership from Norwich University (3.83 GPA). Chris has been married to his wife Darena for over 33 years, and they resides just outside Columbus, Georgia.
